Momentum SportMed combines the depth of a multidisciplinary clinic with individualized, hands-on care. Our team brings together Olympic and international sport experience, first-hand athletic backgrounds, clinical teaching and specialized treatment skills. That collective experience helps us understand both the mechanics of movement and the demands of recovery, from everyday injuries to returning to training and competition. Manual treatment is central to our approach, supported by personalized exercise and home rehabilitation programs where appropriate. We integrate current clinical evidence, professional expertise and your goals and preferences to guide care. When your needs span more than one discipline, our practitioners can work together to coordinate treatment and rehabilitation. You do not need to be an athlete to benefit: the same attention to movement, recovery and function applies to your work, daily activities and quality of life.
Our practitioners bring different areas of expertise, including sport and athletic therapy, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, therapeutic massage, lymphatic care, acupuncture and pedorthic care. The team includes practitioners with international sport experience and teaching backgrounds, alongside specialized clinical training. When appropriate, practitioners can work together to coordinate your treatment and rehabilitation. Visit Our Team to find a practitioner whose experience fits your needs and goals.

At Momentum SportMed, both Athletic Therapy and physiotherapy combine hands-on manual treatment with active rehabilitation. During your appointment, your therapist assesses your needs, provides individualized manual treatment and guides you through exercises, with a home exercise program to support progress between visits. Certified Athletic Therapists specialize in musculoskeletal injuries affecting muscles, bones and joints, and rehabilitation for everyday activity and sport. Physiotherapy has a broader scope that also includes neurological and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, depending on the practitioner’s training and experience. Both professions treat athletes and non-athletes. Athletic Therapy is a distinct service and cannot be billed as physiotherapy. Coverage varies between insurance plans, so please confirm that your plan specifically covers Athletic Therapy before booking. Direct billing is not available for Athletic Therapy.
Massage therapy can address muscle tension, discomfort, mobility, recovery and relaxation. Sport massage focuses on the physical demands of training, competition and activity. You do not need to be a competitive athlete to discuss sport massage with the clinic.

Yes. Momentum SportMed offers radial shockwave therapy as a standalone appointment or as part of a treatment session when appropriate. Your practitioner assesses your symptoms and history, explains suitability and applies a handheld device to the treatment area. You may feel tapping and some discomfort; the intensity is adjusted to your tolerance. A course commonly involves 3 to 5 sessions, with the plan tailored to your condition and response. The shockwave application often takes about 3 to 5 minutes per area; the full appointment also allows time for assessment and advice. Some protocols use around 2,000 pulses per area, but the dose varies. Your practitioner will explain aftercare, exercise and activity guidance. Anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen or naproxen may be discouraged around treatment. Do not stop prescribed medication without advice from your prescriber. Results vary, and improvement may develop over several weeks.
